چکیده
Nanofiltration is a promising solution for the removal of emerging and persistent micropollutants, but it limited by operating expenses due to high membrane areas operational pressures, dictated membrane’s low molecular weight cut-offs (MWCO), formation large amounts concentrate be treated, e.g. advanced oxidation. In this paper, simple proposed enhance retention micropollutants adding cyclodextrins (CDs) complexation. Complexation between hydroxypropyl β-CD resulted in higher rejections ibuprofen (99.3%), bisphenol A (94.5%) phenol (76.4%) compared filtrations without addition CDs (82.4%, 14% 4%, respectively) using 1 kDa MWCO membrane. The CD complexation allowed filtration with ultrafiltration (UF) membranes, where nanofiltration (NF) membranes would normally best available retain micropollutants. By polymers, retentions IBU 97.0 were even achieved 5 Operation larger will potentially lead less retentate formation, i.e. concentration factors as well flux which results lower area expenses. Therefore, fixated on compounds (particles or polymers) may an efficient increase micropollutant rejection water recovery, while reducing treatment This significance, can serve way polish contaminated waters removing scale wastewater treatment.

متن کاملPriority organic micropollutants in water sources in Flanders and the Netherlands and assessment of removal possibilities with nanofiltration.
The occurrence of organic micropollutants in ground- and surface waters has become an important concern for the drinking water industry, mainly because of possible related health effects. Due to the polar nature of some of these pollutants, they are not completely removed by traditional water treatment barriers. This paper offers an overview of priority organic micropollutants and their occurre...
متن کاملRemoval of textile dye from aqueous solutions by nanofiltration process
The feasibility of employing nanofiltration (NF) in the decolorization of ionic (direct blue 86) and nonionic (disperse blue 56) dye aqueous solutions was investigated. The effects of feed concentration (60- 180 mg/l), pressure (0.5- 1.1 MPa) and pH (6- 10) were studied. Experiments were performed in a laboratory- scale set up by using a TFC commercial spiral wound polyamide nanofilter. The res...

We report temperature-dependent acoustic and densimetric data on changes in volume, expansibility, and adiabatic compressibility accompanying the binding of 1-adamantanecarboxylic acid (AD) to beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CD). We interpret our volumetric results in terms of hydration. Based on our compressibility and expansibility data, we estimate that, at 25 degrees C, the binding of AD to beta-CD...
متن کاملCompetition between surfactant micellization and complexation by cyclodextrin.
Supramolecular property systems composed of alkyltrimethylammonium surfactants and β-cyclodextrin were studied by means of a chemical probe. Solvolysis of 4-methoxybenzenesulfonyl chloride (MBSC) was used in the mixed systems with the aim of being able to determine the concentration of uncomplexed cyclodextrin in equilibrium with the micellar system. The surfactants used enabled us to vary the ...
